Welcome!  Ballinswood Farm is a full-service Thoroughbred farm offering boarding and sales operations.  Located in the gently rolling farmland of Paris, Kentucky, the farm's 122 acres have the best soils of the Bluegrass (Maury, Alluvium and McAfee), which are ideal for raising strong-boned racehorses. 

Ballinswood Farm and Ballinswood Sales are committed to customer service and quality care of our client's horses.  We believe in management that incorporates the goals of our clients - whether you are looking to maintain a quality breeding operation, build a stable of racehorses or pinhook sale prospects.  We offer experienced assistance with all aspects of your Thoroughbred business - from breeding selection, to purchasing, to racing and eventual retirement.  Whether you are a one-horse owner or a major Thoroughbred operation, we have the resources to assist you in meeting your goals. 

    Proper nutrition, veterinary and farrier care each play an important role in developing a champion racehorse.  

    Ballinswood Farm employs top veterinarians who specialize in fertility and soundness.  We have close associations with both Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital and Hagyard-Davidson-McGee equine clinics. 

     Our farrier is one of the finest in the Bluegrass area specializing in racehorses and sales prospects. 

     We expect the best from our vets and farrier because your horse's success is in our best interest. 

    The Ballinswood Farm team understands the frustrations of being a long-distance owner.  We provide monthly photographs of client horses and progress reports.  Our billing is easy to read and coordinates with activities billed by outside entities, such as our veterinarian clinics.  Our phone lines are always open to client questions and concerns.  We regularly use e-mail to communicate with our on-line clients.  We encourage our clients to visit their horses and will assist with local accomodations and visits to area sites such as Churchill Downs, Keeneland and the Kentucky Horse Park.  Ballinswood Farm is close to both Lexington and Cincinnati airports (see Map).
